BCP for a European Medical Equipment Provider

A European medical equipment provider needed to improve its business continuity framework and achieve NHS tender compliance. Having experienced Inoni’s work before, the client trusted us to deliver a practical and standards‐aligned Business Continuity Management System (BCMS).

In Practice
We began by holding a kick-off meeting with the client’s senior leadership and project management teams. This meeting helped us understand critical dependencies and establish clear recovery expectations for key business functions.

Our next step was to facilitate targeted workshops with the client’s key stakeholders. During these sessions, we evaluated various disruption scenarios—ranging from loss of physical sites and critical equipment to IT outages, staffing challenges, and supply chain issues. This collaborative process ensured that material risks were accurately identified and that realistic recovery strategies were developed with input from those who know the business best.

Using the insights gained, our team produced a complete set of continuity documents. This included a Business Impact and Risk Analysis that mapped critical dependencies, a detailed Business Continuity Plan (BCP), and an integrated IT Disaster Recovery Plan. In addition, we developed scenario-specific runbooks and role cards to clearly define responses in various disruption situations.

A collaborative walkthrough session with the client allowed us to review and refine the documentation. This final review ensured that the plan was aligned with the client’s needs and ready for testing.

Outcome
The project delivered a robust continuity framework that met industry standards and provided a clear path to NHS tender compliance. The final deliverables included:

  • A comprehensive Business Impact and Risk Analysis
  • A detailed Business Continuity Plan
  • An integrated IT Disaster Recovery Plan
  • Five scenario-specific runbooks
  • Role cards defining responsibilities during an incident
  • A framework for ongoing risk improvements

The client summarised the experience as follows:

“I chose to work with Inoni after a positive experience in a previous business, where I was impressed with their process and quality of output. Their coaching approach helped identify material risks and develop mitigation strategies effectively. The outcome fully met my objectives, and as a result, we are now NHS tender compliant.”
